Hi everyone. My name is Darcy. It’s the dog version of Marcy just replaced the M with a D. Speaking of MDs, I did go to the Doctor to get my ear infection checked out. I had chronic ear infections but they are clearing up now. I also had one hematoma in the curly ear. Which wasn’t so bad after all because at first I thought the Doctor said I had a toad in my ear, so once you realize a frog isn’t in your ear a hematoma seems not quite so daunting.
Foster Mom says the curly ear made me look perpetually like a 4-month-old puppy, even though I’m 2 years old, will be the silver lining. Hematomas actually hurt like the dickens! Foster Mom said I had the worst ear infection she’s ever encountered and had to have special drops from the Doctor. Thank goodness Foster Mom knows what she’s doing, it’s not her first ear rodeo. I had successful ear surgery, so I am all better now! But no more ear! I still look good, don't you think?
Now that I am on the mend, I can get down to more important tasks on my list. I love to chew bones, especially hard bones and water buffalo horns. It’s not so much the taste that intrigues me, it’s the gnaw gnaw gnaw feeling on my teeth that I enjoy. You should try it!
I weigh about 65 pounds which is a modest yet substantial size. Yes, yes, I am just as sweet as I look. In fact, instead of calling me Darcy, you’ll probably call me Sweetie Pie, Sweet Potato, Sweetheart, Sweet Tea and My Little Chicken Nugget, because honestly you need some variety on nicknames or you aren’t doing it right.
I get along with and tend to be the submissive one with all my foster brothers and sisters. Of course, like many neglected Texas pups, I did test positive for heartworm. My slow treatment has started and the rescue will provide all meds or if an adopter prefers we will consider the injection treatment after adoption if you can keep me calm and quiet for the duration.
Oh my, here I am talking about myself so much, I forgot to mention my best foster friend is Rascal. And my favorite food is filet mignon. I’ve never had it, but I figure aim high. Life can only go up from here.
