Cosmo's humble beginnings and back story: Cosmo has been with our rescue since he was a puppy. A good Samaritan saw him and a couple of other "German Shepherd" puppies being sold on the side of the road in south San Antonio. She asked our group to help save them since many times, back yard breeders don't care where their puppies go or what happens to them.
Sight unseen, we agreed. Last minute the people selling them decided to keep the female so our volunteer scooped up Cosmo and drove over 2 hours to bring him to our foster. The foster laughed and said, that he wasn't really a German Shepherd and was a mix, but knew he had a better chance with our group. So! Obviously Cosmo isn't quite a German Shepherd, but he is quite the amazing gentle, beautiful and fun soul that is looking for his forever family.
He is now 6 years old and really enjoys the company of the GSD Mandy (see the videos). So if you are interested in both, he'd love that. However, Cosmo would be okay if you decided to only bring him into your family and let Mandy find her own family.
Cosmo is a very sweet, gentle and loving boy. He can be shy at first but once he knows you he’s very bonded. He can be a bit leery of strangers and may bark but shows no aggression. Eager to learn. Would do well in training to build confidence. Enjoys car rides and will do really well with a family who can give him the one-on-one attention he craves. He is a little anxious and needs a quiet home where there is not a lot of stress. He enjoys going for walks and walks nicely on a leash.
Cosmo is very focused on people and wants to please. He LOVES being with people and can be found sleeping at dad's feet while he works or following mom around the house. Cosmo has EPI (pancreatic insufficiency) but this is easily managed and he is doing great with the digestive enzymes which we’ll show the adopters how to administer. The foster thinks Mom was GSD/lab mix and dad was (as Bev calls it) a “traveling man” GSD/Boxer/husky. But we can tell you for certain he is 100% A Good Boy!!!
Let's find Cosmo a new home soon! He is being fostered in Round Rock, Tx
