Meet Chief
Hello everyone. My name is Chief and I’m appropriately named as all the other dogs do adore me and look to me as a stable and kind dude. Kind of the Mufasa on Lion King, a handsome and gentle force of nature. If I was a lion I’d probably have the best maine or is it mane?
Since I’m a great guy, I’m going to start off with a Debbie Downer of sorts so that you don’t wait until the end to find out I had a medical incident. When I first got to my Foster Home over a year ago, I had a seizure! Scary right?
The Vet has me on a low dose anti-seizure medication which you can hide from me in a food. On the medicine, I haven’t had a seizure again in over a year. *do a dance of joy!*
That maintenance medicine would need to be continued after adoption for another year, but it’s not expensive and I’m so totally worth it and will give you kisses in return. Fair and square. Because of my seizure history, you’ll need to make sure your Vet prescribes me specific parasite prevention.
I do sleep a lot because of the medication, however, I still enjoy some activity and an at least once a day stroll around the neighborhood would be enough exercise for me. I also love my raised bed to lounge on.
I am very affectionate and when most ladies see me the urge to squeeze my cute cheeks and give me kisses really kicks in. The curse of being utterly adorable yet strikingly handsome at the same time.
Foster Mom says I am very smart. In fact, I’m giving her a bit of stink eye right now as I see her typing up notes about me to convince other humans to adopt me. She knows I deserve more attention than she can give with so many foster dogs, but she loves me.
Oh, and I am house and crate trained but I don’t need to be crated. Although sometimes I randomly go into a crate that has the door open because hello, good boys get treats for willingly going into a crate right! Cha-Ching. Foster Mom knows what I’m up to but obliges because hello, look at this face!!!
So I hope you don’t mind the whole seizure medicine thing, and really see what a joy I would be to have in your home. I’m a really dream boy, literally and figuratively because I sleep a bunch and I’m handsome to look at.
Love you!!!!
