Meet Athena (new and improved version!)

Okay folks, I gave strict instruction to the Volunteer Lady helping me type this to not use any dog puns or other nonscents. *cocks an eyebrow and taps her foot* She did it already didn’t she? She spelled a word doggie style, didn’t she? Uh, uh, uh….nonsense is spelled nonsense, not nonscents. German Shepherds happen to be very good spellers.

I am a 3 year old 55 pound grown up dog. Old enough to drink if you convert dog time to people time, I am 21 years old.  I am not stooping to baby talk. Seriously, humans will ask their 9 year old dog if they want to “go wee wee”. That’s like asking a 63 year old human if they want to go wee wee. I am house and crate trained, way past any of that baby puppy wee wee stuff. Foster Mom even offered me some toys and balls, but nope, I am not into those.

I am a queen and a goddess and expect to be addressed and treated as such. When I first got to my Foster House, I did have a high horse attitude and did not make fur friends immediately. I did have a couple of friends, namingly Xena. Xena is friends with everyone, she is like Tom on Myspace, she just sends friend requests to every single person or dog she meets and they accept.

Recently, my best fur friend Xena got accepted into the board and train doggie school, so she totally moved out! Since I don’t have her to pal around with anymore, I have decided to make new friends. The other foster dogs here are not so bad after all. Who knew!
So now I don’t have to be listed as the ever so daunting “best as an only dog” anymore. It might take some transition time and you will have to opawrate your patience with my initial social skills but I can totes co-exist with other canines. My Foster Mom is very proud, but most of the kudos goes to Xena, that girl really knows how to incorpawrate all the dogs into the fold.

Humans are still my favorite things, it’s just my preference to spend all of my spare time with my Human talking about adult stuff like the weather and taxes.  I haven’t met any cats yet. I did test positive for heartworms and have started treatment. I would do well in a home with humans and even older children that want a happy loyal beautiful regal magnifiscent….*pauses* The Volunteer Lady did it again, didn’t she, she spelled a word wrong, didn’t she?
