Hi there, my name is Sarge and I would really love to find my furever home! I heard my rescue group was told that I’m 4 years old, but my foster mom thinks I’m actually 2 years old (yay)! I’m completely healthy (heart-worm negative, neutered, vaccinated) and approximately 60-65 lbs. I’m definitely a big boy and I like to do all sorts of activities. I give lots of kisses and love to play with my foster parents and my foster sister. She’s a German Shepherd just like me! I’m super friendly and enjoy meeting new people and dogs, it’s so exciting, it’s a big world out there!

I am great at car rides and I do really well on walks, I don’t like to tug on the leash, I’d rather walk beside you! I’m crate-trained (house-trained as well) and I will let you know if I need to use the bathroom, I don’t like to have accidents in the home. I’m easy going with good energy to do everything and anything, I also relax very well at my foster home and love lounging in the living room with my foster family, it’s great to be with people who shower me with affection! I know several commands such as “sit”, “stay”, “shake”, “come”, and I’m learning “down” - I’m a great student and learn very quickly, treats do help of course!

I do love all my toys but I’m not as familiar with playing tug-of-war all that much. I do fetch (occasionally) and love to interact with everyone and their dogs! My foster mom prefers to keep my foster sister and I separate when it comes to feeding me because I sometimes can become a little territorial. I'm getting better at realizing I’m going to be fed and don’t need to compete. Did I mention I do great with kids? They’re awesome! My foster mom hasn’t seen me interact with a cat yet, so maybe one day I can meet one and see how that goes!

I hope I get to meet my furever family soon and begin my new, beautiful life. If you would like to meet me and become my best friend, please fill out an application.
