rodney
If you're looking for a bonded pair, Rodney (on the left) and Tinker (on the right) are adorable together and are BFF's! Double the love and double the fun! They would love to be adopted together. However, they can be adopted separately. |

Quick Stats:
- Neutered male
- 7 years, about 80 pounds
- Great with dogs
- Not good being left alone so needs a dog sister or brother when human is gone
- Not reactive to cats
- Good with people but not kid tested
- Friendly, affectionate
- He knows basic commands and has leash experience but is strong!
- Does not do well as an only dog because he gets anxious when he’s left alone; will open doors to go searching for his human but if he has another furry friend to hang with, he does better

Meet Rodney
The humans are calling me Rodney. Can’t complain. They coulda called me Bob, Tom, John Smith, or Mister Frankfurters, as long as it meant I would be a name and not just a number or statistick. Yes, I spelled that wrong on purpose because sticks are fun.
I am a 6 year old male black and tan classic German Shepherd, tipping them scales at 80 pounds. They say I appear very purebred and if you do a google for German Shepherd, I’m text book case.
I seemed to have been well cared for and taught at some time because I know “sit”, I know about leashes and I’m friendly and social. In my Foster Home I also learned “down” and “come”.
As with many good boys in Texas shelters, I was on the e-list due to space right after Thanksgiving. So give thanks that a Foster Mom stepped up to save me. Not all good boys are this lucky. I hope to start my next chapter of life with you!
I get anxious when left completely alone and therefore do not do well in crates for extended periods. I can figure out how to get out of it.
My current Foster Home has other dogs, I am doing fine away from my human as long as I have these other dogs to keep me company. I enjoy hanging with dogs very much.
I need a home where I am not crated too much. One that has other dogs and maybe a retired human or a work from home humans.
