Little Bear is looking for a home.  He is a 6-month-old purebred German Shepherd who was surrendered with a female, and when the female was placed in a new home, he lost his best friend and the only companionship he ever has known.  He is a wonderful, very loving who is always by your side and ready to give kisses.  He does get overly excited sometimes and likes to jump up, but he is currently working on containing that energy and refocusing it into other areas. Little Bear has been seen by the vet, is up-to-date on all his vaccinations and has been neutered.

He is currently enrolled in basic adult dog classes and is a very quick learner with instruction and commands.  Little Bear is great with people, even with smaller children (although be mindful that he likes to jump and may unintendedly knock down children).
Little Bear is currently working on his house manners, ie staying off counters, furniture, and doesn’t quite know what do indoors (we think he may have been an “outside dog” previously).  He is fully potty trained and we working on crate training now.  He sleeps in his crate at night with the door closed and will go into his crate during the day with the door open.  He walks very well on a leash and enjoys walks and is slowly figuring out what he is supposed to do on a walk (sniff and go potty).   Little Bear wants to play but hasn’t quite figured out how to play ball yet (we are working on it though) and is taking a liking to some of his toys.

Little bear has quickly bonded with his male human and listens well to his commands and lays next to him in his office.  With Little Bear’s history and his longing for companionship it he seems anxious when his foster Dad leaves and he may have some separation anxiety (although Little Bear took his foster Dad’s shirt and lays with it in his crate for comfort. Little Bear is very smart and has a sweet demeanor. He is a wonderful dog and is a lover.  He would do best in a house without a cat and in a setting where he could be the alpha dog and a strong human.
