Meet Koda
I am just a happy and very smart gurl. I learned my new name in 2 days! I go into my crate sometimes just because I want to chill and when it's time for Nite Nite, I head down the hall and go lay in my bed next to my foster Mom's bed. Oh! and I love food! But I am much more polite than my 2 foster sisters because I always sit and patiently wait until my foster Mom puts my bowl down and says "Ok". Then I happily chow down wagging my tail because I'm getting 2 square meals every day now. My foster Mom puts my special food in this weird crazy bowl because I do have a sensitive tummy and it helps make me slow down and not inhale all my kibble. I was only 49 lbs when foster Mom got me out of the that loud jail she calls a shelter. She took me to a couple of vets to find out why doing "my business" was stinky and icky. The last vet told my foster Mom to put me on a special food and in 1 day I didn't have anymore stinky or icky!
I act like a pup and love to play. Both my foster sisters play tug of war with me and we race around the yard chasing each other. I can get a little rambunctious but if my foster Mom says "Hey" or "Settle down" I will, but sometimes she has to tell me a couple of times because I'm just so happy! If my foster sisters don't want to play, then I can entertain myself with my binky toys. I was a little confused at first because I would take my foster Mom's nice smelly shoes and socks and put them in my crate with me. But once one of my foster sisters showed me that the Binky Box with all those awesome toys is the only place I should get things; I quickly learned that shoes and socks were not for me. My favorite spot by the front window is where I now hang out and play with all those cool binkies. Sometimes my foster Mom has to perform "surgery" on some of them because I like to discover what makes the squeak noise.
I was pretty skinny at the shelter and you could see my ribs. With the food service here, I'm slowly gaining weight and now you can't see my ribs anymore. I'm glad I don't have to worry about being hungry or thirsty now. Also, I did get a bath which I did not like at all, but now my coat is healthy and shiny and soft now. And even though I wasn't exactly thrilled, I did let foster Mom cut my nails without much fuss.
I'm also a great watch dog and bark "stranger danger" when I see someone walking by outside with their dog. And I like to chase the squirrels but foster Mom tells me no - so I stop chasing them. Sigh...... Sometimes she just won't let me have fun!
As with all foster dogs, I’m potty and house trained with the help of Foster Mom. I love being in my Foster Home but can't wait for my furever home where I can snuggle with you and play in my own back yard! Foster Mom says I have 2 speeds - chill which I do a lot and then get the zoomies and race around the yard with my foster sisters or a binky or 2.
