Meet Jasper!
Jasper is a typical German Shepherd puppy that is full of energy and spunkiness. He loves playing with the other dogs in his foster home. His favorite game is chase around the yard and he also enjoys tug rope and playing ball.
Jasper is very food and treat motivated. He enjoys chewing on elk antlers and squeaky toys. However, he thinks he is being timed to see how quickly he can tear apart the squeaky toys so they usually don’t last very long before he has them torn apart and is trying to eat the stuffing.
Of course being a puppy, he is still in the early stages of learning. Jasper is a little shy meeting new people but with patience, socialization and outings, he’s learning to feel secure and brave. He enjoys going for walks and in typical puppy fashion, likes to stop to smell everything.
Jasper is not a big fan of going for car rides. His foster parents are helping him feel more confident with gentle support and fun car rides.
Jasper is house and crate trained. He does like to be very vocal in the morning to let you know he’s ready to get the day started. Jasper would enjoy having a playful, laid-back dog friend that will be tolerant of his puppyness and who will help him burn energy and continue to help him build his confidence.
Jasper has not been around children in his foster home but we feel that he would be fine with older children. He is past the mouthy stage but is still working on not jumping. Jasper has always taken treats very nicely since first arriving into his foster home.
Jasper has been introduced to all kinds of noisy things at his foster home. Vacuum cleaner, chain saws, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, noisy trucks, just to mention a few and so far he’s taken in all in like a champ.
Jasper is a handsome boy and would make a great addition to an active home. He is looking for a loving and patient forever family who’ll continue working with him to grow his confidence and build on the amazing progress he’s already made.
Could Jasper be your new best friend?
