Meet Hope
Hi everyone, my name is Hope. I can’t move in with any adopters yet, because I can’t have my spay surgery until a few more weeks. You can start applying now! Some people already have!
If you aren’t furmiliar with my sad story, I’ll fill you in. In mid April I was taken in by a DFW area shelter in what can only be described as absolutely horrible condition. Did you see the before photo? Yucky right. Very sad. We aren’t sure who allowed for me to get in that terrible hungry emaciated condition, but if it was on purpose, in the words of Sophia Petrillo from Golden Girls when she put a curse on the man that wronged her, “May your hair never lie flat, and may your socks always slip down inside your shoes.” But I’m a dog so I don’t hold grudges! I hope the person learns to do better and feed dogs.
Look at me now. Wow! The main ingredients to my healing was FOOD, FOOD, FOOD, and care from Foster Humans and Veterinarians. My eye still has some healing up to do and it’s expected to clear up and I had medicines.
Okay, so my age is maybe 8 months to 2 years. When a pup has been severely neglected and malnourished it’s more difficult to pin point an age. I’m still growing a little so probably closer to the 8 months than the 2 years.
I’ve gone from less than 13 pounds to almost 27 pounds, in a month and from 15inches high to 17 inches at the shoulder. Foster Mommy says “her weight and her sassy doubled in a month!!!” I’ll probably always be smaller than other German Shepherds. Perpetually small and adorable.
These are the things I enjoy at Foster Mom’s house so I hope my forever home has them too:
I’m doing so good, just need this dern eye ball to clear up. Despite whatever I endured before being rescued, my inner self has healed and I’m a normal, happy, waggy, alert, sassy, saucey, smart, clever, adorable girl. I love people and dogs and thank everyone who took care of me.

These are the things I enjoy at Foster Mom’s house so I hope my forever home has them too:
- Foster Mommy and/or Foster Dad who loves doggies and neighbors that love to pet doggies and tell me I’m so cute and a good girl. I am.
- My big sister and mentor is a 90 pound doggie named Karma, I love her! I love to lick her and follow her and pester her as would any normal little sis. I also have a big brother. I love having big dogs to learn from. They taught me to bark. Cool!
- FOOD, okay, seems silly to say, and quite obvious, but some people don’t feed their dogs, y’all. It’s a problem. So my new house needs food.
- I love being in the living room or bedroom or kitchen or wherever my Foster Human is, so please please be home a bunch for me to follow.
- A Kitchen, it’s where food comes from.
- Toys! Squeakies. Stuffies. Binkies. Bones. Balls. Dinosaurs, stuffed, not real.
- Beds!
- FOOD, yep, worf mentioning twice.
- A big yard for potty time and fun time.
- Air con dish ners, it’s hot out there y’all.
