Callie

An Update from Callie's new owners:  As far as Callie (aka China) goes, I do not think we could
have picked a better dog to fit with our household.  She and Jacob play until neither of them have
the energy to move.  She is a very sweet girl and is perfectly happy to just lie at your feet.  She is
very smart and learning quickly.   Her manners need work, but that will come with time. Jacob is
showing her the ropes.  She has been great with sharing her food.  She is interested in the cats
but not aggressive at all.  If the cats start to get unhappy with her, Jacob will step between them (he
is very protective of his kitty). In short, everything is going as smoothly as it can with 2 big dogs and
2 spoiled cats all under one roof.  I am hoping to get some good pictures of the 2 of them  this
weekend at the ranch, and I will send them to you when I do.
Lela

This family has adopted 2 dogs from me.  Excellent home. She has a dog

Haley

June 10, 2006. From Haley's adopters: "I wanted to give you an update on Haley. She is now 6 months, weighs 60 pounds and is a puppy
school graduate. We are so proud of her. She was the biggest puppy in her class and has the biggest ears around. Hopefully she will
grow into them. Haley loves her big brothers and keeps them on their toes at all times. Dakota and Bandit were playing with her and
guess what, she has not grown out of that habit either! She thinks of herself as a lap dog whether it be in the house or in the car. She has
quite a personality and gets along well with every dog and human she meets. Haley is a breath of fresh air to both McLain and I and
especially for Dakota and Bandit.  At first we were concerned Dakota would reject her presence, but even he could not resist her charm.
She is definitely Daddy's girl and he spoils her rotten. When she is with me she will jump in and out of the car, when she is with her
Daddy, she stands by the back of the car and waits for her Daddy to gently pick her up to put her in the car and take her out. I am jealous,
he doesn't even open the door for me!
Toby (formerly  Boris)
Having the time of his life ~ looks to be the order of the day!
Phoenix -  Phoenix has found his home with his foster mom. What a lucky boy.
Kobi -  Kobi has been adopted by a family from Pflugerville.
October 10, 2006. Here is an update from his adopters:

"His name is Sammie now, and he is adjusted and very happy.  He even knows what time
my son comes in from playing outside because they wrestle every evening and he has his
head stuck through the blinds looking for him."
Chopper has been adopted.
Brandy has been adopted.
Asta has been adopted. This lucky girl found the kind of home we hope all our pups find.  She
has a new playmate to keep her company!
Blaze and Fritz

October 15, 2006. Here is an update from their adopters:

"Blaze is settling in nicely. He's very calm and just likes to relax next to me in my office. He
also might be simply waiting for his next walk (and being very polite). He is a great home
protector. This morning, early-early, I let them both out to pee and Blaze noticed
something not-quite-right. He bellowed his most protective, impressive GSD bark before
going to investigate.

As I write, Blaze is sleeping next to my chair. My computer lab is his new 'den' (we share).
In just one night there has been an amazing change in temperament! He's learned to just
sit next to me and calmly enjoy our company. I'm a little worried about my office-chair
rolling over feet and he doesn't like me pulling him out a safe distance.

Fritz is still very much a puppy - deceiving, given his size, but it's easy to forget he's so
young. He's still a little spooked in our back yard and he cries a little. Blaze helps lead Fritz
around and both stay glued together whenever there's exploration work to do around the
house and yard. Fritz is happy just laying next to Barbara and getting his snuggles. One
gaze into his eyes and we drop whatever we're doing and spend the next several minutes
scratching his belly while repeating the mantra, 'you're such a sweet dog.'

Thanks again for finding these wonderful dogs and allowing us their company."
Miles

Update from his home:
They were eight weeks old.  GSD got them out of there four days later and they went
to live at the rescue group.  When there, even though he has no Shepherd in him;
Bev had taken him in due to his dire straits.  Moki, who went by the name of Ricky at
that time, was just under a year old, and just too sweet and gentle for his own good,
because he started to get beat up by some of the other males.  So, in October 2004
Moki (Ricky) went to a foster placement,  just 2-3 months after Miles had joined the
pack.    Moki (Ricky) stayed at the foster placement until we saw his picture on
GSD's website in May of 2005, when he was about one year and eight months old.
We adopted him the day we met him, and he and Sadie, our 11 year old (at that
time) Dobie/Dalmation have become On July 30, 2004, Miles and his sister Myra
were left at TLAC. devoted companions.  Fast forward a year to  July 30, 2006, when
Miles came to live with us as a foster dog, exactly two years to the day that he had
been left at TLAC!   Now just a little over two years old, he was also getting beat up
by the other males for being too sweet and handsome.  Miles is also very shy,
especially around men.   They probably didn't know each other too well when they
were at GSD together, since Bev would have kept Miles with the puppies, but it sure
didn't take Miles and Moki Joe very long to bond once Miles got to our house.  They
are kindred spirits, both so gorgeous and gentle.... well, except when it comes to
squirrels, and then they're the dynamic duo!  After a few months we decided to
adopt Miles, in October 2006.  In the second photo, Moki Joe (who is now 3 years
old) and Miles (now 2 1/2 years old) are being petted and praised by my husband.
Yes!!!  After being so fearful of men, it is a man that Miles is looking up at with those
adoring eyes!
Jadis (formerly Mindy) has been adopted.

November 27, 2006. Here is an update from her adopters:

"Jadis is doing really well in her new home in San Antonio. She gets along
great with my cocker spaniel. The two dogs run around and play together all
day. Jadis has also done very well with my young niece and nephew. She is
very affectionate and very friendly. Jadis has been a great addition to my home!"
Madison has been adopted.
Luna has been adopted.
Chief has been adopted after a year and a
half in his foster home.  This great guy
landed with a fantastic family. Here is a
picture of Chief in his new home.
Daisy (Formerly Dixie)

January 7, 2007

"Happy New Year. I just wanted to drop you a quick note about Daisy (who used to
be called Dixie). She was pretty quiet and would not eat for the first two days. It is an
understatement to say she is now out of her shell and in full puppy mode. She is a
great eater (puppy food and remote controls), she loves walks (good for me too!)
and is very affectionate. Karen says she is in great shape and I am lucky to know so
much of her medical history. Thank you for taking such good care of her.

Thanks again,
Melody and Jose Gonzalez"
Natasha has been adopted.
Mazie has been adopted.
