Hi, my name is Riff, aren’t I cute? I am a sweet, loving young Border Collie mix. I had a rough start in life, I ended up at a shelter when I was only 5 weeks old and was
dehydrated and anemic. Luckily for me the nice folks at BCRT picked me up and got me healthy. I have grown up to be a very handsome boy, even if I don’t look
much like a Border Collie anymore. I can be shy with new people at first, but I will warm up especially if you have treats…I love treats…and toys. Wouldn’t you like to
take me home??

I am crate trained, neutered, microchipped, current on all vaccination and on heartworm and flea prevention. I'm a very sweet boy, but would benefit from continued
training to help build my confidence.

If you think we’d be a good match, you can contact my foster mom at BCRT or if you would like to meet me please fill out the BCRT Adoption Application. I'm currently
in a foster home in the Austin area.

Thanks for your time  :)

Kat - Referral
Approx age: 4 yrs
Sex: female, spayed
Good with: male dogs, cats
Adoption fee: $100

Kat recently came back to our group (Rottilove Rescue) after a 2 1/2 yr adoption. Unfortunately her last adopter moved to California where
his job took a turn for the worst and he was not financially able to care for her. As you can see, Kat is a mix. Our best guess is Rottweiler
and Heeler or Catahoula, but who knows. Kat is very much scared of strangers, mostly men, but her last home was a single male. She
does adjust and start to trust rather quickly. Just 2 hrs after arriving in our home, she was coming to me when I called and givin me lots of
kisses. She is a major kiss-aholic. She would do best with a home with only one other dog...male...her size or larger that is not dominant.

We just need a patient home that will not let her initial "freak out" session get to them. This girl is beyong sweet and we hope there is
another home out there for her. She is current on shots, heartworm and flea prevention. She's house and crate trained as well. If you want
to give a special dog a special home then look no further because we have the dog for you!

If you are interested in adopting Kat, please go to the Rottilove website's adoption application page here:
http://www.rottilove.com/forms/adoption-application.php and submit for consideration.
Adult Female Rottweiler/Heeler or Catahoula - Kat
Young Male Border Collie Mix
Roger - Sweet Senior Male Malinois Belgian Shepherd
Senior Male  Australian Shepherd Mix - Huck
Huck is a 12 years old Australian shepherd mix. He appears to be a very sweet
dog who at this point in time is miserable unless he's very close to his two hound
friends, Beau & Jenny. I wish I knew what kind of hounds they are. Huck, as well as
the two hounds, is current on all vaccinations, is on Heartgard and Frontline Plus.
His weight on the vet record shows that he is an 82-pound boy.

Huck hasn't really been taught leash manners so we are working on that and he,
Beau & Jenny all are learning fast. He appears to have been left outdoors the
majority of the time and when the woman did let them in because of the weather,
she would put the three of them into a small utility room with the door closed. I
have moved them right into the house, especially at night, and have found that
they behave well and seem to be quite happy indoors. Huck is good with other
dogs and appears to be a generally easy-going fellow.

Young Male and Female Hounds - Jenny Belle and Bobby
Dave and Axel - Young Male & Female Basset Mixes
Jenny Belle:

Jenny Belle is a three-year-old Hound who weighs somewhere
between 50 and 60 pounds. She lost her home when her human
dad died and her          human mom had to sell the family home and
move into more cramped quarters with no yard. Jenny Belle has
really soft fur and a personality to
match.

She is sweet, gentle and generally loves people but has not yet
made up her mind about cats. She came with very little training in
the way of manners but is a quick study and most willing to please.
She is quite bonded to her brother, Bobby, but has indicated that
what she most wants is a home of her very own and a person who
will spend hours every day in Jenny Belle admiration.

She will learn quickly and will be your friend for life, especially if you
offer her a nice soft bed in a warm house with a friendly human to
stroke her. Her other requirement? Toys!...lots of them! because
Jenny Belle loves to play and carry her toys in her mouth.

Won't you consider adding her to your family? Your life will be
enriched a thousand times over! Please offer Jenny Belle your
heart.

If you are interested in adopting Jenny Belle please contact:  Nancy
Jensen-Case, email: nancy@dreamtimesanctuary.org
Jenny Belle emerges from her own dogloo where she
loves to nest.
Jenny Belle looks up at the camera, trusting
that you will see her beautiful little face with a
hint of a mask. (She's a bit smaller than her
brother.)
Bobby:

Bobby is a lovable little Hound fellow who weighs about 60 pounds. He is Jenny
Belle's brother and also dreams of a home of his own. Bobby is      not all that
fond of listening to a human as long as he is with his sister but has shown us that
he is willing to respond and walk quietly on a leash when he is away from Jenny
Belle.

Bobby is friendly, outgoing and appears to love children and adults. He is a
medium high-energy dog who also enjoys the couch potato life, especially if that
includes a soft dog bed. He might even volunteer to keep his new human's bed
warm on cold nights.

Bobby lives by his nose, can be a bit headstrong but will listen to direction from a
dog-wise human and has on occasion wondered  whether cats might be for
chasing. Bobby would do quite well as an only dog or paired with an older and
wiser dog who could mentor him.

Please consider Bobby as a sweet, loving addition to your family, forever, of
course, as Bobby was saddened by the loss of his human father and then the loss
of his home when his human mother had to sell and move to a place that did not
include an active, joyful little hound like Bobby.

If you are interested in adopting Jenny Belle please contact:  Nancy Jensen-Case,
email: nancy@dreamtimesanctuary.org
Bobby has just seen
something he finds
quite interesting and
is about to tell his
companions about it.
Bobby turned away
from the camera but at
least you can see his
lovely, soft coat and
color pattern. He's
such a sweet boy.
Meet Dave and Axel

Dave and Axel are basset  mixes, but what cuties! They are ~1 year old and full of all that
wonderful puppiness that makes being with them a joy. They are bonded and will need to be
adopted together. Both are neutered, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccinations and
microchippped. They’ll need a yard to play in and an active family.

This is a note from their foster mom about them, "I just wanted to let you know that they are
just fine, eating and chewing their bones, and running and  playing with my two. They haven’
t given us a moment’s trouble, and they are doing very well with going to the yard with our
two to do their business. Whoever adopts these two is going to get two very sweet and very
affectionate hounds. They are just adorable and they both love, love, love to be loved."

Sweetie - Young  German Shepherd Mix
Here are a few things about them…

- Both girls… Raina (means “Mighty” or “Guardian”) & Saygen (means “Blessing”)

- They turned two-years old in March, fixed.

- Very gentle, easy going, and love to cuddle – great with kids, not hyper, except for all of 1 minute
when you first get home.  Not obnoxious barkers at all like some dogs.

- To burglars, they will look like amazing guard dogs and both have a bark that would make any
intruder turn around in a heartbeat.  They’d actually probably lick them to death and lead them to the
treasure….but much like the burglar alarm sign you post in your front yard, they are a great
deterrent.

- Totally house trained and learn tricks easily, eager to please

- They’ve been inside/outside dogs… inside when we’re home a lot but stay out when we are at
work.  Let you know when they need out.

- They love walks, road trips and other dogs (we take them to the open leash dog park a lot and they
do great).

- Healthy…current on all shots – been on Banfield plan since we got them, never had health issues.

- Mix of German Sheppard and Rhodesian Ridgeback

- Good diet: only eat dry dog food; dog bones & healthy treats for tricks

Their new home should have plenty of room for them to run, ample shelter from the TX sun if outside
in summer and a fence to contain them (they don’t dig).

Please call Laura at 512.468.9765 if interested in adopting them.
Raina and Saygen - Young Female German Shepherd/Rodesian Ridgeback Mixes
So this is what happened. My owner got me as a puppy and kept me chained up my whole life. Even that turned
out to be too much effort for the lazy bum and one day he just dumped me in the middle of nowhere without a
backward glance. The freedom to finally move and romp as a dog should was a blessing so I decided to make
the best of a bad situation. I was walking along enjoying the mild weather and hoping to find a new family to take
me in. I spotted a nice guy, and being a friendly and trusting dog and all, I trotted right up to him when he called
me. But I hadn’t been found by my new human family after all, I had been busted by animal control! He took me
to a place where I got regular food, some shots to keep me healthy, and some doggy friends to play with. I
decided I could live here if I had to, but then one of my new canine friends let me in on an awful secret. I was in a
kill shelter that could not adopt to the public! I tried to fight the panic and believe that a rescue group would come
for me. But as week one turned into week two, then three, then four, my spirits dropped and I began to despair
that my brief life was going to be over before it really began. After five long, long weeks, rescue finally came and
now I’m safe and sound in a cozy foster home.

I like it here, but I can’t stay. This family takes in homeless dogs like me, helping them find forever families. As
long as I’m here, I take up a spot another foster dog could have, so I hope to move on as soon as possible.
Another pup needs the same lucky break and opportunity for a second life.

Let me tell you a little about me so you can see for yourself that I’m the perfect dog for you! I’m a young-un, less
than two years old (in human years that is), and I weigh about 45 pounds. I’ve done all my growin’ and I won’t get
any bigger. I have a long coat and two black spots on my tongue. My tail curls up toward my back. I adore
children of all ages. I know how delicate they are, so I am patient and extra gentle. I love other dogs, big ones
and small ones. My foster mom says I’m not an alpha dog, whatever that is. She must mean that I don’t challenge
her pet dogs to be leader. I really, really like cats also, but perhaps too much. I want to play with them and I
forget my size and scare them away. I’m not a constant barker. I’m crate and house trained. I’m embarrassed to
admit this, but I don’t know how to jump. Spent too much time chained up to learn, but happily that means I don’t
get on the furniture or the bed. I love to play with chew toys and chase balls. I walk well on a leash and although I’
ve never done this, I bet I’d make a good jogging or cycling partner. My foster mom also says that since some of
my relatives were obviously of german shepherd and spitz genes, I’m really smart and learn quickly and easily. I
would love to learn tricks to keep us both entertained! I even tolerated my first bath very well.

Wanna meet and see if we were meant to be together?

Just email my foster mom Kathy at halfwayhome@comcast.net
Zaan is a 9 year old female.  Her owner states she is spayed. Her temperament seems to be better around
females. She is leary around males which may explain why the owners son had no interest in her at all.
During the visit she would try to love on him...he totally ingonred her.

She would be great for an indoor outdoor pet. I feel she would be best with a couple or a single adult female.
She loves to walk around the hospital with me in the morning.

Zaan is extremely loving to me and other females. I'm treating her as a preventative for all bacteria and worms.
I will be testing her for heartworms when I find her a home. Even if its a foster home.

She is here at the hospital with me for now.  I need to find a home for her fast, she is in danger of being
euthanized.

If you are interested in adopting Zaan or fostering her, please call Jeani.

Coda - Adult Shepherd
Coda is a five year old Shepherd mix. We currently have him in a foster home here in Austin, but
we are willing to transport him as necessary if he finds the right home.

He is shy and timid with new people, but acclimates well once he starts trusting you. We rescued
him from an illegal puppy mill that was crammed with all sorts of dogs of varying age and in
various states of malnourishment. He was probably a few months old when we decided to foster
him to keep him from being put down. We decided to have him stay with us long term to try and
rehabilitate him into normal life.

It's been five years since then and we've been fairly successful in managing his anxiety. He is
protective of his pack and his home. On one or two occasions, I have seen him nip at people who
get into his personal space uninvited, pretty much like any other dog. As I said, he is anxious and
uncertain around new people, but I've never seen him exhibit aggressive or violent behavior.

We have consulted with a trainer and an animal behaviorists, and they say that he seems to
have a high level of anxiety that may be biological. The nervous response he exhibits with our
new baby isn't a guarantee of danger, but it is a risk. We have to do what's right for the baby and
recognize that our home is no longer the right place for him. He needs a loving, active household
with no children.

We've taken steps to train him, and he too to it very well. He is house trained, he responds well to
clicker training, he has also been crate trained, and he does will on a leash. He is up to date on
all his vaccinations, loves to run and swim, gets along great with other dogs when introduced
properly, and he makes an excellent hiking buddy.

If you think you could provide a loving home for him, we would be eternally grateful. After putting
so much of our hearts into this dog, we have to do our best to make sure he is in a safe place.

If you are interested in Coda, please contact Rob Gary <freqforce@gmail.com>.
Roger - This guy is a WONDERFUL companion dog. The family adopting him must agree to have
Roger in the home with the family and not locked away in some room and home near a person with
his favorite stuffed toy between his two front legs. Walking outside he stays very near and when you
want to go back inside Roger is right behind you. Roger is living inside with one of our German
Shepherds (named Jada) and is getting along fine with her. Actually Roger, much smaller than Jada,
will steal her toys right out from under her nose.

Two different Vets remarked Roger looks like a Malinois Belgian Shepherd and looking on the net we
found pictures of pure bloods that look very similar to Roger. We feel Roger may be a pure blood
Malinois but you can never be sure. In any event Roger is worth it. He is so affectionate that you
can't help but to love him right back. :) Again, Roger is not an overly active dog. He is a medium
sized adult pet and he thrives in a situation where he can take it easy and walk with or lay around
with his "Human". He does get along with other dogs but does not get into pushing and pulling games
with them.

Roger will go to a family where he can be a companion beside his human and have a space to lay
his favorite toy.

Young Male Border Collie Mix
Stitch is about 2 yrs old and weighs about 70-75lbs.  He is very sweet.  He was found with his chest laid open
and  you can see the scar in one of the pics.  The ACO got permission to get him stitched up by a local vet
and he then spent the next 3 wks roaming the shelter and greeting people with a drain tube sticking out of his
chest.  He was well behaved.  He does okay with the other dogs and seems to pretty much ignore the shelter
kitties that roam the office.

Unfortunately he has been there for several months and as they have been getting lots of intakes recently and
staying full he will have to be euthanized soon.

If you are interested in Stitch please contact the Animal Control Assist in Joshua, Texas via email at
mbonham@cityofjoshuatx.us or Elizabeth Jeffcoat via email at elizabethjeffcoat@yahoo.com
