Lisa was turned into a shelter when her family moved and decided they didn't want to take her. We hear this all the time. A dog is a lifetime commitment!
Lisa is a very sweet girl. She is very submissive with her foster siblings, and her main interest right now seems to be food! When Lisa came to us she was very underweight. With good food and TLC she has filled out and is the perfect weight. Lisa has learned to use her crate and now loves it. She will even go into her crate to hang out with the crate door open.
Her shiny black fur is absolutely gorgeous! We were told she is a Pure Bred German Shepherd, but are wondering if Daddy was a black Lab? Regardless, she is one sweet girl and will make someone/some family a wonderful companion.
A Note about Black Dogs:
Black dogs are euthanized at a higher rate than other colored dogs. People pass black dogs up for lighter colored ones. Black dogs are often the last to be adopted. It could be because it's more difficult to capture their personality and beauty in photographs. Black dogs are the underdogs of all rescue groups.
