This little guy is Lincoln, but he won't be little for long.
He's had a hard start in life but he hasn't let that get him down! If you would enjoy a walking partner, have time for training and have lots of love to give - he might be your guy!
Lincoln was abandoned because he was "sickly". He's been kenneled at a vet office for three weeks waiting for a rescue to come and get him. He is up to date on all things and healthy now. However we noted he had an odd gait about him and ordered x-rays. The report showed no unusual bone or hip issues. He was SO GOOD during the x-rays they did not even have to sedate him! For a puppy, that is awesome. They can be squirmy worms for exams! He held still, showed no pain upon palpitations and the technician could find nothing wrong. He walks and runs without pain.
With a little research we have found that malnutrition and lack of exercise that usually builds of the hind end muscles can indeed cause a weak hind end and gait like his. Especially at this age, shepherds are growing into their size and neglect could have had a lot to do with his odd walk/run since no issues were found upon extensive examination.
He loves everyone he's met thus far and is a great car rider if you don't feed him first : ) He barks at new dogs but within seconds of sniffing their noses he is calm again. He doesn't mouth as much as some puppies do and his puppy teeth are gone so no sharp biting either. He is a loving pup who needs a family that will care for him and see that he gets good nutritional food and daily walks to bring him back up to 100% top health.
He deserves a forever home this time...please apply if you think it might be yours!
