Update: Our sweet boy Herman is doing great, eating well and gaining weight as you can see, and his fur is growing back nicely. He was able to be micro chipped and is ready to start interviewing for his new home. Our vet guessed his age to be about 2. He is very playful and just a big silly boy who loves to play.
Poor Herman was a starving stray who wandered up to a house, and the kind people took him in. Boy, was he in luck, as they are parents of a kind-hearted vet who assessed him and gave him some good food. Once they contacted us and found out we would take him they began treating him. A few good baths later and a lot of nutritious food, plus some vetting and a lot of TLC from the staff and he was ready to make the trip to us.
In the meantime, Herman was tested and found to be heartworm negative! We decided he was so nasty no mosquito would bite him! He has been neutered and had all his shots, and will be micro chipped as soon as his skin is in better condition.
The staff lovingly named him Herman so we decided to keep that name for him. Herman is now ready to go to his forever home! Her has gained his needed weight and his skin is completed healed and he has a beautiful coat now!
