I just wanted to drop a note along with some pictures. So far so good. Gypsy is doing ok; I made sure to spend some "alone time" together early on. She's very comfortable at home; she eats well, chews treats at ease and is she stuck to me like glue. She's like a shadow and doesn't drift very far at all. As far as people are concerned, she as to be one the friendliest dogs I've ever seen, she approaches everyone with tail wagging and doesn't mind youngsters either. She's a handful on walks, an absolute bundle of energy.
As far as Jackson goes, things are improving. He's an independent, high energy, playful dog and she just seems much more mature and a little indifferent. There has been a lot of agitation-gypsy has gone after him a couple of times and really bullied him- if you can believe that- a bit at first. She has really bonded with me and has been a little aggressive in a protective sense. She can also be very pushy but We've been working on that. I've gotten into the habit of tossing one ball far and simultaneously, another close in so everyone has a chance to play. She did get after him once or twice and bit him, but nothing too serious as they were sharing the same space in the kitchen enjoying chews just a little while later. They Both do well on long walks together as long as I keep the pace up. I'm still a little concerned about the adjustment but I think it's just going to take some more time and effort. I'm really hoping that they will bond with time.
I have attached a couple of photos: one is just after our first trip to the Salon for a little treat. She did great. The second is when I brought her out to the airport and toured the flight line while the rest of the volunteers completed preparations for our air show. She treated everyone as if they were her long lost best friend and really didn't get excited about much, not even with airplanes.
