Scarlet is a treasure. Queen of the manor and she knows it. As usual, there has been a little adjustment on both sides but we are doing fine. She had a habit of biting the hands playing which I thought was cute the first couple days until my hands turned to hamburger but we are pretty well past that now. She also fights the leash but is doing better with a harness. She had her first grooming and bath last week and the girls loved her but told me that the hair dryer was definitely a no no. She and I are booked into obedience classes starting Jan 6ht. I will send more pictures later but as you can see, she loves to go in the truck and she never leaves my office when I am working.
"Just wanted to give you an update on Loki. What a blessing he has been to our family. He is finally settled in, has learned to sit, stay, lay down, walks perfectly on a leash , working on walking without a leash & staying near which he did better than I thought, needs more work when he runs with me but completely house & crate trained. His coat has grown In Nicely and the hair on his tail is almost completely in. No more dry skin & excessive itching. Finally found a crate he could fit in he has gotten sooooo huge! I'm sure you can see from the pic below he has gotten bigger.
Loki & Charlotte (Sheena when I adopted her from you) are inseparable as you can see from the pic below. He is no longer timid around strangers & much better around men, I've taken him to dog friendly restaurants & he loves to be around people. It's been a little bit of work but he is well behaved, so loving, and such an amazing dog!!!!
Thank you for all that you do. The pic below shows two of your success stories."
From Clooney's adopters: "Attached are pictures of Clooney that you may post on your website. He has not been in the kennel for three days and he is getting an A+. He does not jump on the doors or scratch or whine. He no longer attempts to bolt out the front door. It's also time for our walk around the neighborhood."
Hi Everyone, Bogie here....
I just wanted to say hi and let ya know I think things are gonna be OK at my Furever Home.
My new Peeps seem to be really nice and they are glad I'm here. They have the same yummy food I'm used to, a nice house and yard, and a Doggie Door! I've tried the doggie door at least 100 times (maybe even 1000). Daddy likes to play ball as much as I do, so I think he's gonna be fine. Mommy is real nice. She just loves on me all the time and she put my bed next to "her side" of their bed. It's a comfy new bed and gives me a good full night's sleep.
Our neighborhood is nice. We've been on several walks and they have a golf course here too, but Daddy said I couldn't go run on it because humans play there. He told me there's another big area where I can run that has a big fence around it but we haven't gotten to go there yet.
We've been on several car rides and we've been to both PetSmart and PetCo. The people up here are very nice. Everyone we meet says something like "He's the best", "He's so nice", "can I pet him?", and on and on - Especially the ladies, they say "He's so handsome" (I know they are right, but I play like I've never been told that before).
We went to a place Mommy & Daddy called the lake. It looked like a giant pool to me. I saw a bunch of big flying dogs. Mommy said they were ducks, geese, swan, and pelicans. They were the strangest dogs I've ever seen, but they were nice and I was glad to meet them. I sure hope humans aren't comparing me to them when they say I'm handsome.
I met Neighbor Mark and the little dog I've been hearing through the fence. They were nice too.
I could go on, but I have to get off Daddy's computer. I was gonna try to Facebook you, but I did not know Daddy's FB password so I hope email is ok.
In closing, I just wanted to say:
GSD Rescue of Central TX. - Thank you for saving me from the shelter. It was really scary there and I was afraid I may not escape. To you, I will be forever grateful.
Uncle Jerry - I do not think it's possible to tell you how much you mean to me. You brought me back to health, helped me gain confidence in myself, and taught me sooooo much. I will always have a special place in my heart for you. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything you've done for me and all my fur buddies. Without you, I would not be here today. Oh yeah, will ya tell Aunt Judy I said "Hi" too?
I better go for now.
"We are so happy with Pippper; & she seems happy with us! She
followed Glenn all over the back yard today!. Last night she would eat very
little; but today made up for it! She has met all our neighbors, &
our neighbor's 26 year old son offered to care for her if we should
go anywhere on my Birthday, which is January 5th. Our dog that
died 2 years ago lived to be 16 years old & he use to take care of
Coby when we went out for a day or two.
Pipper is right under my feet so I guess I had better close & talk
to her! Take care!" ~ Gladys
From Adopters: "November is exactly what I wanted and she is precious. She is helping me write this and says hello to you all. My sons came over as well as the neighbors and she has a bunch of new Uncles and Aunts as everyone loves her. Bev was wonderful and very helpful. Thank all of you for your wonderful help and we will stay in touch with our progress. By the way, It did not take her long to take over the place, perhaps an hour or so."
