Adoption
You must complete an adoption application first to meet any dogs in our group. This application is for your benefit, we know it is long. It helps us to know what you are looking for and what you can provide for a dog so we can make the best match possible. Please be as detailed as you can. The German Shepherd breed is not for everyone. This is lifetime commitment, so if you do not think you can make such a commitment at this time please do not fill out an application. Please do not give one of our dogs the chance of being rejected yet again. Thank you for that consideration.
When you determine which dog(s) you would like to meet, please fill out our adoption applicaiton. The application is a way for us to gather more information about you for an initial screening. If we don't contact you within 48 hrs please feel free to send us an email making sure we got your application. Please remember that we are all volunteers and try our best to respond as timely as possible. It may take up to a week to fully process your application. But you must complete an adoption application and go through the full processing before meeting any dogs in our group.
You are required to provide three personal references and a vet reference on your application. After you application is approved, we will conduct a home check to make sure your home is safe, secure and ready for a dog to live. If you live in an area where we are light on volunteers it may take a little extra time to process the application. When you are approved for adoption, then we wil set up an appointment for you to meet the dogs. We ask you bring all members of your family (2 and 4 legged members) to meet with the dog you would like to adopt. Our dogs live with foster parents, most of whom work regular jobs and are located in Austin and surrounding areas. The final step is to complete the adoption contract.

de-worming, shots, and other vet bills as well as food, and flea/heart worm preventative. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered before adoption,
are current on all shots, and on heart worm preventative. Additional contributions are accepted and gratefully appreciated.
