Pheobe
Being a kid, I need lots of "work." But I am really smart and
have a wonderful disposition so will reward your working with
me with love and affection. Puppies enjoy being with other
dogs or children who will play with them and I think either in my
life would be fine. If you have time for an outgoing, friendly,
rowdy girl who has to learn some more manners, I am the
youngster for you. My estimated adult weight is 40 lbs. Please
come meet me at the South Shepherd PETCO. My edob is
6/07.

Please contact HPPL at 713-862-7387 if you hear my plea.
Bunnie
Bunnie ~ A shepherd/terrier/rott mix? but what a deer (OK dear).
She has had two litters, is heartworm positive and is now in
treatment and recovery for both. But what a gentle soul. She
wants to be with humans, is easy to walk and has not let her past
experiences get her down. Bunnie just spent 3 days at the vet
clinic and they did not want to see her go! Bunnie will complete
her treatment in early May.

Marley
Marley is a smart and happy 2 year old spayed female
Shepherd/Rhodesian Ridge back mix. She likes to be outside but is well
behaved indoors, also. She could probably leap over my 4 ft fence but
so far has not made any attempts to do so. She has dug a few holes
and I noticed she was laying in one, maybe for the coolness. She is
always willing to play tug-of-war with a rope toy, or go for a walk. She
could use more leash training, but is responsive to the little training we
have given her. She knows 'sit', 'stay', 'down', and 'high five'. She gets
along with my ancient male toy poodle allowing him to be the 'top dog',
but she picked up some territorial behavior when she stayed in a home
with 4 dogs for about 10 days. She has since gone back to her usual
well adjusted personality, but does not let my little dog eat out of her
bowl (justifiably). I also have two cats. One has Marley completely
fooled, and she gives him a wide berth. The other cat has not learned to
stand his ground, so he mostly just avoids Marley. Marley will eat the
cat's food, so I have to feed them where she can't get to their bowls.

Marley would like to rid our yard of squirrels and toads, but these critters
are just not cooperating. She will chase and bark at the squirrels, and
will try to dig up the toads. Once the toads come out at night, she is a
little frightened of them.

Marley may have been mistreated at some point in her life since she is
very wary when I am using the garden hose. She also shows some fear
of random people who just want to talk to her or pet her. She has been
a good watch dog by barking at passers-by, but she will quiet down
when told to do so. Since she is fairly large and active, I would not
recommend a home with toddlers or preschoolers just because her
exuberance could knock them down.

Marley had been running loose in the neighborhood for several months
when we rescued her. The owners were not willing to provide a safe
environment for her, or provide for her basic needs. She was
undernourished and has evidence of injuries. She was treated for
hookworms and a bacterial ear infection when we rescued her. She also
had lost some fur around her neck from a collar that had been too tight.
She has now gained weight, and all her fur has grown in. Her ear
infection is gone and she is heartworm-free.

We live in Hyde Park, in central Austin. I can be reached at any of these
numbers.

Ted is a male neutered German Sheppard, approx 7-8 years
of age.  He is not food aggressive or human aggressive. I have
only introduced him so far to one of my dogs, a spayed female,
and he was fine.  I took him to Dr. Lamar Crossland.  Lamar
ran a fecal and found no parasites.  He seems to be in ok
health, but is emaciated (weighs 77 and is approx 30 pounds
or more under weight) and is extremely sore of foot.  Hips
seem to be okay, he can jump into the back seat of a four
wheel drive Ford 250. He reacted favorably to children at the
vet clinic. As he gets stronger he gets friendlier.  He hates to
be left alone.  He wants to be with people.  He spends a large
part of the day soaking his feet in the baby pools I put in the
yard with him.  He as holes and worn spots on his pads.

Buddy
Buddy's parents are getting a divorce and want to find a new
home for him. His parents don't want to see Buddy end up in a
shelter. Buddy is 4 1/2 years old, neutered, and up to date on
vaccinations. He was originally a cruelty seizure from the City
of Cedar Park, and that's why his ear is broken. Buddy is an
indoor/outdoor dog, loves to play in the pool, but is afraid of
male dogs. He is safe at home for the time being, but that all
depends on the sale of the house.

Contact Erin Coleman at 512-627-2368 or Johnny West at
512-557-5615 to meet Buddy.
